The Volunteer Center of Silicon Valley & the Santa Clara County Emergency Managers Association present:

Disaster Volunteer Management 101

A field management course designed for city staff responsible for supervising and managing volunteers during disaster response & recovery

LEARN effective and time efficient techniques for orienting, training and supervising volunteers in a disaster, particurlarly volunteers not previously affiliated with your organization.  The workshop will also cover Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program guidelines from the State of California for disaster volunteer management.

Audience:  Local government staff such as Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Police, Fire, Finance and others who may be responsible supervising volunteers following a major disaster. 

This workshop is designed for the cities of Gilroy, Morgan Hill and south county unincorporated areas.  (Note: Three additional workshops will be conducted during 2008 in the other EVC regions).
